This is a vital and an often singular step in relationship coaching. When someone feels unfulfilled in a relationship and recognizes insufficient communication, or sometimes destructive patterns, it is common with supportive coaching that they find the answer within themselves and then decide how they would like to proceed. I work with individuals to help identify obstacles and dynamics that have led to their current relationship conflicts and how they wish to move forward. It is not uncommon for individuals who start coaching to revive their relationship with a partner, friend or sibling to recognize that the beliefs that led them to seek to make it better are not healthy or serving them well. Likewise, individuals who may be angry, hurt or resentful and seeking support for a termination of a relationship may experience self-discovery and realize that their assumptions and interpretations may not have been what they seemed. At this point a client may wish to engage in coaching with their partner or family.
